Auf dem Flöten Festival 2017 in München lernten sich die klassische Flötistin Stephanie Wagner aus Portugal und Jazz-Flötistin Stephanie Wagner aus Deutschland endlich einmal persönlich kennen nachdem sie zuvor immer wieder voneinander gehört hatten und vor allem häufig auf kuriose Art und Weise miteinander verwechselt wurden. 

 

Es entstand die Idee eines gemeinsamen Konzerts, um mit den Missverständnissen „aufzuräumen“ wer welche Stephanie Wagner ist.

 

Anlass sollte das Flötenfestival 2020 in Freiburg sein. Aufgrund der Corona-Krise präsentierte sich das Duo in 2023 erstmalig beim "Internationalen Flötenfestival Freiburg" das von der "Deutschen Gesellschaft für Flöte" (DGfF) veranstaltet wurde.

 

Musik von Poulenc, Hindemith, Ginastera, Monk, Jobim und Wagner etc.  ist von den beiden Flötistinnen arrangiert und mit ihrer persönlichen Handschrift versehen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the Flute Festival 2017 in Munich, classical flutist Stephanie Wagner from Portugal and jazz-flutist Stephanie Wagner from Germany finally got to know each other in person after having heard of each other time and again and, above all, often being confused with each other in curious ways. 

 

The idea of a joint concert was born to "clear up" the misunderstandings about who Stephanie Wagner is. 

 

The occasion was to be the 2020 Flute Festival in Freiburg. Due to the Corona crisis, the duo presented themselves for the first time in 2023 at the "International Flute Festival Freiburg" organized by the "German Flute Society" (DGfF).

 

Music by Poulenc, Hindemith, Ginastera, Monk, Jobim and Wagner etc. is arranged by the two flutists and gives their personal signature.

Stephanie Wagner - Portugal

 

Stephanie Wagner ist seit 2004 Solo Flötistin im Remix Ensemble der Casa da Música in Porto, Portugal. Europäische Festivals:

Berlin, Paris, Straßburg, Köln, Witten, Donaueschingen,

Huddersfield, Barcelona, Madrid, Budapest, Wien u.a. 

 

Sie ist auf insgesamt 9 CD's für DaCapo Records, Mode Recods New York, Numérica, Cavalli Records und Aeon zu hören.

Als Solistin präsentierte sie sich in Stücken wie "... explosante fixe ..." und "Mémorial" von Pierre Boulez, "Tempi Concertati" und "Serenata" von Luciano Berio und "Abyss" von Franco Donatoni.

 

Stephanie studierte am New England Conservatory in Boston, USA, und an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater in München. Zu ihren Lehrern gehören Benoit Fromanger, Fenwick Smith und Klaus Schochow. 

Sie nahm an Meisterkursen bei Karl-Heinz Zöller, Jean Claude Gérard und Doriot Dwyer teil. 

 

Als Orchestermusikerin spielte sie u.a. im London Symphony Orchestra (Solo Piccolo) und dem Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. Stephanie war Stipendiatin der Kammermusikstiftung „Villa

Musica“ und trat bei den Salzburger Festspielen, Tanglewood in den USA und der "Serate Mozartiane" (Italien) auf.

 

Sie unterrichtet an verschiedenen Hochschulen in Portugal und gründete 2013 die Academia de Flauta de Verão. Seit 2018 ist Stephanie Kursleiterin der Progressiven Muskelrelaxation nach Jacobsen. 

Diese Entspannungstechnik unterrichtet sie privat und

in Seminaren um bei Problemen wie Lampenfieber, Atemproblemen und Muskelverspannungen zu helfen.

 She teaches at various universities in Portugal and founded the Academia de Flauta de Verão in 2013. Stephanie has been a course instructor for Jacobsen progressive muscle relaxation since 2018. 

 

She teaches this relaxation technique privately and in seminars to help with problems such as stage fright, breathing problems and muscle tension.

 

 

Stephanie Wagner - Deutschland

 

 

Stephanie Wagner studierte klassische und Jazz-Querflöte an der Musikhochschule Mainz und als Stipendiatin am renommierten „Berklee College of Music” in Boston/USA. Auch arbeitete sie als Dozentin für klassische und Jazz-Querflöte von 1995 bis 2003 an der Musikhochschule Mainz.

 

Mit ihrem Quintett „Stephanie Wagners Quinsch“ spielte sie zwei CDs ein und zählte 2010 zu den Preisträgern im Wettbewerb der Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Jazz Rheinland-Pfalz (LAG Jazz RP). Es folgten CD-Aufnahmen mit dem Trio „Jeeep“ und dem Duo „jazzgems“.

 

2011 erhielt sie den Jazzpreis der Stadt Worms als herausragende Instrumentalistin auf hohem technischem Niveau, sowie für ihre innovative Arbeit in unterschiedlichen Formationen, in denen sie ihre Persönlichkeit unüberhörbar einbringt.

 

Bei Schott Music erschien 2015 ihre Jazz-Flötenschule „Play Jazzflute – now!“

deren Inhalt sie in zahlreichen Workshops an Hochschulen, Akademien und Musikverbänden und auf Festivals vermittelt. 

 

Nach der Zusammenarbeit und CD-Einspielung mit dem internationalen Quartett „playground4“ spielt sie momentan überwiegend im Duo „Flute’n’Bass“ mit Kontrabass. Das Duo wurde in 2023 für den „Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik“ in der Kategorie Jazz nominiert und deren CD „Traces“ von der Presse hochgelobt.

Auf der Querflöte lotet Stephanie Wagner das volle Klangspektrum aus, bedient sich moderner Spieltechniken wie z.B. dem Beatboxen und elektronischer Effekte und konzertiert weltweit.

Stephanie Wagner studied classical and jazz flute at the Mainz University of Music and as a scholarship holder at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston/USA. She also worked as a lecturer for classical and jazz transverse flute at the Mainz University of Music from 1995 to 2003.

 

She recorded two CDs with her quintet "Stephanie Wagners Quinsch" and was one of the prizewinners in the 2010 competition of the Rhineland-Palatinate Jazz Working Group (LAG Jazz RP). This was followed by CD recordings with the trio "Jeeep" and the duo "jazzgems".

 

In 2011, she was awarded the Jazz Prize of the City of Worms as an outstanding instrumentalist at a high technical level, as well as for her innovative work in various formations, in which she unmistakably brings her personality to bear.

which she teaches in numerous workshops at universities, academies, music associations and festivals.

 

Following her collaboration and CD recording with the international quartet "playground4", she currently plays mainly in the duo "Flute'n'Bass" with double bass. The duo was nominated for the "Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik" in the jazz category in 2023 and their CD "Traces" was highly praised by the press.

Stephanie Wagner explores the full sound spectrum on the flute, uses modern playing techniques such as beatboxing and electronic effects and performs worldwide.
